Phalanx Range
Calculate which systems a Sensor Phalanx covers by level.
Range: 15 systems each side · Covers from system 235 to 265
How to use it
Step 1 — Sensor Phalanx level
Enter your Sensor Phalanx level. The range grows as level² − 1 systems to each side: level 1 covers only its own system, level 5 reaches 24 systems each side.
Step 2 — Origin and universe
Set the system you scan from and your universe’s total number of systems (499 by default). Tick "circular universe (donut)" if yours wraps the last system to the first.
Step 3 — Read the coverage
The tool shows the range in systems and the exact span you cover. If the range reaches half the universe, it covers every system.
Features
- Sensor Phalanx range by level (level² − 1 systems each side).
- Exact span of systems covered around your position.
- Circular universe (donut) support, flagging when the range wraps around the edges.
- Whole-universe coverage notice when the range spans half the universe.
Frequently asked questions
How is Phalanx range calculated?
It is level² − 1 systems to each side. Level 1 gives 0 (own system only), level 5 gives 24 and level 8 gives 63 systems each side.
What is the circular universe (donut)?
Many universes connect the last system to the first. With that option on, the calculation wraps around at the edges instead of stopping at system 1 or the last one.
Does the Phalanx detect other galaxies?
No. The Sensor Phalanx is built on a moon and only scans systems within its own galaxy; this tool computes exactly that per-system coverage.
