Moon Destruction

Odds of destroying a moon and losing your Deathstars.

Chance to destroy the moon: 16.3%
Chance to lose the fleet: 41.8%

Both rolls are independent: the moon can be destroyed and you may still lose the Deathstars.

How to use it

Step 1 — Moon diameter

Enter the target moon’s diameter in km. You can read it in the galaxy view and in espionage reports of the moon.

Step 2 — Deathstars

Set how many Deathstars (RIPs) you send on the destruction mission.

Step 3 — Read both probabilities

The tool shows separately the chance to destroy the moon and the chance to lose your Deathstars.

Features

  • Chance to destroy the moon: (100 − √diameter) × √(number of Deathstars).
  • Chance to lose the Deathstars: √diameter / 2.
  • The two rolls are independent of each other.
  • Lets you compare how many RIPs to send against moons of different sizes.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a large moon harder to destroy?

Diameter enters as a square root: the larger it is, the smaller (100 − √diameter) — lower chance to destroy — and the larger √diameter / 2 — higher chance to lose your RIPs.

How many Deathstars should I send?

Each extra RIP raises the destruction chance by √(number of RIPs), with diminishing returns. The tool lets you test combinations for your case.

Can I destroy the moon and still lose the RIPs?

Yes. Both rolls are independent: the moon can be destroyed and, in the same mission, the Deathstars can be lost.

Where do I find the moon diameter?

It appears in the galaxy view and in the moon’s espionage report. More fields means a bigger diameter.
